2.0m Length Concrete Sleepers

2.0 metre concrete sleepers are designed for larger retaining walls that require extended spans between posts. This length helps reduce the number of posts needed, making installation more efficient for long, straight wall designs.

Commonly used in both residential and civil landscaping projects, 2.0m sleepers offer strong load-bearing capacity while maintaining a clean, streamlined appearance across longer runs. Pair them with steel posts sized for the span and height.

Choosing 2.0m Concrete Sleepers

Length sets your post spacing, not your wall capacity. A 2.0m sleeper spans 2.0m between post centres, so fewer posts per run than shorter lengths, but each sleeper carries more load between those posts. Thickness (75mm to 100mm) and concrete strength (40MPa or 50MPa, with a 60MPa range in SA) do the structural work, and the steel post series has to match the wall height. Our sleepers are steel reinforced with two N10 or N12 ACRS bars on certified ranges and made to AS3600.

A 75mm-profile 2m sleeper weighs around 72kg, so plan machine unloading or confident two-person handling. Sydney holds 1.5m and 2m stock as its standards, and 2m is widely poured in every state range.

Order the full wall quantity in one batch: sleeper colour can vary slightly between factory pours, and a face built from two batches shows it. If you are sizing a whole wall, the retaining wall calculator works out sleeper counts, posts and footings together, and our guide to concrete sleeper sizes explains how length, thickness and strength interact.

How many posts does 2m spacing save?

On a 12m run, 2m sleepers need 7 posts against 9 for 1.5m sleepers. Fewer holes, less concrete and a faster install, provided the site allows the longer span.

Is a 2m sleeper strong enough for a tall wall?

Length does not set wall capacity. Tall walls need thicker sleepers, higher strength grades and heavier posts; the 2m span just needs the post series the engineering calls for.
