The practical default
Grey suits jobs where the wall should do its work without drawing attention: boundary retaining, garden terracing, driveways and rural projects. Because it is the natural tone of the concrete, it sits comfortably next to plain slabs, footpaths and grey pavers without any colour matching effort, and it is typically the budget friendly end of the range while sharing the same price band as other colours within a given product line.
Structurally nothing is given up for the lower spend. Grey sleepers carry the same N10 or N12 steel reinforcement, AS3600 compliance and 40, 50 or 60MPa strength grades as every other colour, and certified ranges hold an engineer certified 50 year lifespan.
Buying tips for grey
- Order each wall’s sleepers in one go. Minor batch variation is normal for concrete and a single order keeps the run uniform.
- Pair grey with a textured face if plain smooth feels too bare: grey rockface adds a split stone look that also hides scuffs on street facing walls.
- Check lengths against your post spacing before ordering via the length filter.
