Seven finishes, one strength grade
This is the deepest sleeper range in our Queensland concrete sleepers silo, and the one to shop when the wall will be seen. Every sleeper here is 50 MPa, steel-reinforced with ACRS-certified bar on certified ranges, manufactured to AS3600, and covered by twice-weekly independent batch testing at the supplier factory. The decision on this page is almost entirely aesthetic.

The timber-look family is the big seller in Queensland, replacing hardwood sleepers that white ants and moisture eventually win against. The stone-look family suits front-of-block and street-facing walls where the retaining wall doubles as landscaping. If budget is leading the decision instead, the 40 MPa Queensland range covers the same structural job at a lower price with three finishes.

Is 50 MPa overkill for a small garden wall?
Not overkill, just a choice. Many customers pick this range for the finish rather than the strength. If the engineering does not demand it and the wall is out of sight, the 40 MPa range saves money per sleeper.
Do these walls need council approval?
In Queensland, certified engineering is commonly required once a wall passes about a metre in height or sits near a boundary. Under that, most garden walls proceed without it, but confirm with your council or certifier.
What is behind a good-looking wall?
The same thing as behind an ugly one: drainage gravel and an ag pipe. Staining and lean from trapped water will ruin a premium finish faster than anything else.
