Fence Brackets NSW

Fence brackets let Sydney builders mount a fence directly above a sleeper retaining wall, saving space on tight NSW blocks. RWS stocks hot-dip galvanised brackets in a Colorbond variant (700 x 48 x 5mm) and a timber variant (700 x 70 x 8mm), ready for pickup at Wetherill Park.

Pair them with our NSW steel post range and get pricing in minutes with the instant quote calculator.

Choosing between Colorbond and timber fence brackets

The bracket must match the fence, not the wall. The Colorbond variant measures 700 x 48 x 5mm and suits steel fence posts, while the timber variant measures 700 x 70 x 8mm and gives the wider, thicker section a timber post needs. Both are galvanised for corrosion resistance and both fix to the steel posts of your retaining wall, so the fence sits directly over the wall line instead of eating a strip of your yard behind it.

How brackets fit into a NSW wall build

Fence brackets attach to the retaining wall posts, which means the wall itself must be specified correctly first. RWS steel posts are hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 and ACRS compliant, and the pairing rule is fixed: 75-80mm sleepers run 100 series posts, 100-120mm sleepers run the 150 Heavy Duty series. Fences above walls add wind load, so structural sign-off matters; see our retaining wall engineering page for how certification works. RWS supplies engineer-certified product but does not provide engineering services itself. Our NSW concrete sleeper range covers the wall side of the job, including the 60MPa maximum-strength sleepers the Sydney hub specialises in.

Pickup and delivery from Wetherill Park

Sydney orders collect from our Wetherill Park NSW 2164 warehouse, which holds both sleepers and steel, so brackets, posts and sleepers leave on one docket. Delivery across NSW runs on external transport and needs forklift access at your site. Trade customers ordering through the trade portal get next-day pickup or 72-hour delivery on paid orders, backed by our best-price guarantee.

Do fence brackets weaken the retaining wall?

No, brackets do not cut or modify the wall structure. They bolt to the steel posts above sleeper level. The engineering consideration is the added wind load from the fence, which is why fence-over-wall designs should be confirmed by your engineer against AS4678 and AS1170 loading.

Can I add fence brackets to a wall that is already built?

Usually yes, provided the existing posts are RWS-compatible steel and enough post projects above the top sleeper. Send photos and post details via contact us and we will confirm the correct variant before you order.
