C Channel Steel (150)

150PFC C-channel posts are the end and finishing posts of the 150 Heavy Duty series. The single channel closes off a wall run built with 100-120mm sleepers, hot-dip galvanised for below-ground life.

Pair them with 150UC H-beams as intermediates and price the set in the calculator.

150 C Channel Steel Post for Concrete Sleeper Retaining Walls in Brisbane and Queensland

End posts versus intermediate posts

C-channel (PFC) posts terminate a wall: sleepers slot into one side only, leaving a flush face at the end of the run. H-beam (UC) posts do the opposite job, carrying sleepers on both sides through the middle of the wall. Every straight 150 series wall therefore needs two 150PFC end posts plus 150UC H-beams at the centres between them. Where the wall turns, a matched corner joiner replaces the end post.

150PFC specifications

150PFC posts take 100-120mm steel-reinforced concrete sleepers and belong to a series certified for walls to 4.5 metres with engineer approval. All posts are hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680, ACRS compliant, available welded or non-welded, and cut to the exact lengths on your design. Post length must cover both the exposed wall height and the engineered embedment depth, so order from your drawings rather than wall height alone. Our engineering guidance covers what certification involves.

Getting posts to site

Steel ships from Victorian warehouses at Bayswater, Hallam and Cranbourne West, plus national stock in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. Delivery uses external transport and needs forklift access on site, or collect from the nearest warehouse. Trade customers can order via the trade portal for next-day pickup.

How many C-channel posts does one wall need?

A straight wall needs exactly two: one at each end. All posts in between are H-beams. A wall with corners needs one C-channel per open end, with corner joiners handling each change of direction.

Can a 150PFC post be used as an intermediate post?

No. The channel only has one sleeper recess, so it cannot carry sleepers from both directions. Use 150UC H-beams for all intermediate positions and keep PFC posts for the wall ends.
