150 Heavy Duty Series (QLD)

The 150 Heavy Duty Series is the workhorse of our Queensland steel range: 150 UC H beams in 23, 30 and 37 kg/m weights plus the matching 150 PFC end channel, all hot-dip galvanised. The 150 UC 30 and 37 are held as fixed-length local stock in Queensland, so most Brisbane, Ipswich and coast orders ship in 1 to 3 days metro rather than waiting on the Melbourne cutting pipeline. 150 Heavy Duty Series steel posts for retaining walls in Queensland

Choosing within the 150 Heavy Duty Series in Queensland

Most engineered residential retaining walls in South East Queensland land on a 150 series post, which is why this category carries more depth than any other steel range in our Queensland steel posts silo. The three UC weights let your engineer match post mass to retained height and surcharge instead of jumping straight to a 200 or 250 section.

PostSectionTypical role
150 UC 23H beam, 23 kg/mStandard mid-height engineered walls
150 UC 30H beam, 30 kg/mTaller walls or added surcharge, engineer specified
150 UC 37H beam, 37 kg/mHeaviest 150 option before stepping to 200 UC
150 PFCC channelWall ends, steps and single-sided captures

The H beams take sleepers from both flanges and run through the body of the wall; the 150 PFC closes off each end. If your drawings call for a heavier section again, the 200 and 250 heavy duty series continue where this range stops.

Stock logic matters on lead time. 150 UC 30 and 150 UC 37 are part of our fixed-length local Queensland steel stock. Non-stocked lengths and other sections are cut to length and galvanised in Melbourne, roughly a week for cutting and galvanising plus about three days freight to Queensland. Galvanising always happens after cutting, to AS/NZS 4680, so cut ends are fully coated. If a yard runs out of your length we can often substitute the next size at the same price, confirmed with you first.

Which weight do I actually need?

That is an engineering call, not a sales call. Queensland approvals commonly require certified design above about a metre or near boundaries; send us the engineer’s post schedule and we quote it line by line.

How do heavy 150 posts get onto site?

Deliveries are forklift offload as standard. For tight access or crane truck offload, tell us when you book and we will price it into the freight.

Can I get a custom corner in this series?

Yes, corner posts can be welded to custom angles; measure the inverse angle of your corner and we quote from that.
