What the 150 PFC does that an H beam cannot
An H beam post has two open flanges, which is exactly wrong at the end of a wall: one channel would sit empty, facing the neighbours. The 150 PFC post solves that with a single open face. It is the standard end, step and termination post for the 150 heavy duty walls in our Queensland steel posts range, and this small category exists so it is findable on its own, because plenty of customers come back for one or two end posts after buying their H beams elsewhere or in an earlier order.
Use a 150 PFC wherever sleepers need capturing from one side only: both ends of every straight run, the high and low posts at a step-down in wall height, and against structures where the wall dies into a building or fence line. A typical single-run wall on 150 series posts is H beams through the middle and one PFC at each end; count your ends and steps, and that is your PFC quantity.
Like the rest of the Queensland 150 series, the PFC benefits from fixed-length local steel stock, so common lengths avoid the Melbourne pipeline entirely. Non-stocked lengths are cut to length and galvanised in Melbourne, roughly a week plus about three days freight to Queensland, with galvanising to AS/NZS 4680 always applied after cutting. If your length is out at the yard, we can often substitute the next size at the same price, confirmed before dispatch.
Can I use two PFCs back to back instead of an H beam?
Structurally that is a question for your engineer, and it usually costs more than the correct H beam anyway. Buy the H beams for the run and the PFCs for the ends.
Does the PFC match my batch of H beams if I order later?
Galvanised steel does not have the batch-colour issue concrete sleepers do, so a later PFC order is fine. Just confirm the length matches your existing posts.
What about ordering matching sleepers?
Pair with the Queensland sleeper ranges in one batch per wall, and put drainage gravel and ag pipe behind the lot.
