UB posts and the Adelaide way of building sleeper walls
Universal Beams carry sleepers the same way UC posts do, in flanges on both sides, but with a lighter, taller profile that suits the way South Australian walls are put together. Within our Adelaide steel posts silo this range holds two sizes, and the SA sleeper limit does some of the engineering thinking for you: our SA range runs to a maximum 2.4m sleeper, so bay spans and post loads stay within a band these UB sections are commonly specified for.
The 120×65 UB post at $22.44 is the lighter option for garden beds and low terraces. The 150 UB post at $51.50 steps up for taller retaining work, and is the one to expect on engineered drawings; like everywhere in Australia, certified engineering is commonly required once a wall passes about a metre or sits near a boundary. A simple way to split them:

The Adelaide advantage is the yard. Our Lonsdale SA 5160 factory yard holds the SA range at the source, so metro customers can collect by appointment and see post and sleeper together before committing. Sleepers from the same yard are covered by twice-weekly independent batch testing, and the steel is hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 after cutting, the corrosion spec that matters for posts concreted into damp ground.
Can I pick up posts and sleepers in one trip?
Yes, that is the point of Lonsdale. Book the appointment, tell us your vehicle or trailer, and we load posts and 2.4m-max sleepers together by forklift.
Do you deliver to regional South Australia?
Regional SA freight is limited; the usual arrangement is a handoff at a metro freight yard, with you or your carrier taking the final leg. Ask when you request the quote and we will map the cheapest path.
What finishes the wall?
Drainage gravel and ag pipe behind every course, and order each wall’s sleepers in one batch to avoid colour variation between pours.
