C-channel posts do one specific job: closing a wall run. The channel recess accepts sleepers from one direction only, so the outside face of the post presents flat and finished at each end of the wall. Intermediate positions along the run belong to 100UC H-beams, which carry sleepers on both sides. A typical straight garden wall is therefore two 100PFC end posts, H-beams between them at your sleeper centres, and 75-80mm concrete sleepers spanning the gaps.

Ordering the right lengths

End posts take the same total length calculation as every other post: exposed height plus embedment in the footing. The 100 series suits walls to about 1.8 metres; taller walls or thicker sleepers move to the 150 Heavy Duty series and its 150PFC equivalent. All posts are cut to size, hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 and ACRS compliant, available welded or non-welded.

Choose pickup or delivery at checkout. Which way should the channel face at installation?

The open channel faces along the wall toward the next post, so the first sleeper drops into it and the closed back of the channel forms the finished end of the wall.

Do end posts need the same footing as H-beams?

Generally yes. End posts retain the same soil height as the rest of the wall, so match footing depth and concrete to the adjacent intermediate posts unless your design says otherwise.
