Treated pine timber sleepers in 200x75mm section are the budget alternative to concrete for garden edging, steps, planter boxes and low retaining walls. Treated to CCA H4 standard, they are rated for in-ground use and protected against severe decay, termites and borers, and each sleeper is kiln-dried before treatment to reduce the risk of cracking or warping.
Sizes
Available in 200x75mm section at 1.8m, 2.4m and 3.0m lengths. The rough-sawn face gives a natural, rustic look that suits garden landscaping.
What does H4 CCA mean?
H4 is the Australian hazard class for timber in ground contact; CCA is the preservative treatment. Together they mean the sleeper is treated for the wettest, most decay-prone position in a garden: buried or in contact with soil.
Timber or concrete for a retaining wall?
Timber wins on upfront cost and easy handling for edging and low walls. For anything carrying real soil load, or where you want a wall that never rots or needs replacing, our concrete sleepers are the stronger long-term choice: steel reinforced, engineer certified and immune to termites. Higher and heavier timber jobs should step up to the heavy duty 100mm treated pine sleepers.
