Smooth

Smooth concrete sleepers are the minimalist pick: a flat, clean face with no moulded texture, and typically the most economical option because the plain face is the cheapest to produce.

The same panels double as under fence plinths. All six products are steel reinforced and AS3600 compliant, with a stock location filter above and Australia-wide delivery. See textured alternatives under patterns.

Two jobs, one sleeper

UseWhy smooth works
Retaining wallsThe flat face suits modern, pared back landscaping where texture would compete with the planting or architecture.
Under fence plinthsA smooth panel along the fence line closes the gap under fencing, keeps soil and mulch in, and gives dogs nothing to dig under.

Plain face, full specification

Smooth sleepers are made to the same standard as every textured face: N10 or N12 steel reinforcement, AS3600 compliance, strength grades of 40, 50 or 60MPa, and an engineer certified 50 year lifespan on certified ranges. The colour is in the concrete, not a coating, so the clean look does not depend on paint that could peel.

Because the face is flat, surface marks show more than they would on a busy texture. For street facing walls that will cop trailers, bins and mower strikes, rockface is the more forgiving choice; smooth shines in gardens, courtyards and fence lines. Popular colour pairings include charcoal for modern builds and grey for a classic concrete look, and minor batch variation is normal, so order each wall’s sleepers together.
