Pattern

Pattern changes how a retaining wall looks, never how it performs: smooth, woodgrain, stackstone and rockface sleepers all share the same steel reinforced, AS3600 compliant construction at 40, 50 or 60MPa.

Pick the face that suits the setting below, then match it to a shade on the colour hub. Every page has a stock location filter and delivery runs Australia-wide.

The face pattern is moulded into the sleeper when it is poured, so the texture is part of the concrete itself. It cannot peel or wear off, and certified ranges carry an engineer certified 50 year lifespan regardless of which face you choose. Price bands are generally consistent within a range too, so the decision really is about looks.

The four faces

  • Smooth: flat and clean, the minimalist pick and the most economical to produce. Also the standard choice for under fence plinths.
  • Woodgrain: moulded timber texture including timberlook and driftwood styles. Timber appearance, zero rot.
  • Stackstone: a stacked stone masonry look, best where the wall is a feature in its own right.
  • Rockface: split stone texture covering block face and splitface styles. The busy surface hides scuffs, which makes it popular for street facing walls.

One question we get constantly

Can I mix any pattern with any colour? Broadly yes. Combinations like charcoal woodgrain and grey rockface are among our most ordered products, and within most ranges the price is the same whichever colour you pick. Browse the pattern pages above, then plan quantities with the retaining wall calculator.
