The 100 TFC channel is the C section post of our Sydney 100 series: its single open channel faces the wall, so it finishes the exposed end of a sleeper run (or a step-down) with a clean closed back instead of an open flange. It is used together with H section posts, which carry the wall’s straight middle joins, and it is the cheapest post in the NSW range at $16 for the shortest length.
Lengths run from 600mm to 3600mm in 200mm steps, all hot dip galvanised. Match it to 75 and 80mm sleepers such as the Lonsdale or Blackwood standard sizes; walls using 100mm+ sleepers should step up to the 150 series equivalents.
How many channel posts does a wall need?
Two per straight run (one each end), plus one at every step-down in wall height. Everything between them is H beam posts. Count your ends and steps off the plan and we will check the list when we quote.
What is the difference between TFC channel and UC H beam posts?
The channel has one sleeper slot and a flat back, so it can only end a wall. The 100 UC 14 H beam has slots both sides, so sleepers from adjoining bays share it mid-run. Most walls use both.
