Smooth charcoal is the default pick for contemporary Canberra builds where the wall backs a Colorbond fence or dark cladding. Concrete is also the right material for the ACT’s conditions: frost cycles and reactive clay soils that work timber walls loose leave a steel-and-concrete system unmoved. A matching charcoal under fence plinth, the Blackwood UFP, continues the colour under the fence above the wall.
Is charcoal colour-fast?
The colour is through-coloured concrete, not a coating, so it cannot peel. Expect slight batch variation and order the full wall in one go where possible.
