What our warranty covers, in plain terms
A 20-year warranty applies to specific sizes within our certified sleeper ranges: the 2.0m and 2.4m sizes on named ranges. The warranty is size-specific and range-specific, so not every sleeper we sell carries it. We ask every customer to confirm the warranty statement for their specific range at order time, and our team will do this with you before you pay.
Separately, our certified ranges carry a structural-engineer-certified 50-year lifespan. The 50-year figure is a durability certification, not a warranty. The two are different documents making different promises, and we keep them clearly separated so you know exactly what you are buying.
How quality is verified before it reaches you
Retaining Wall Supplies buys only from engineer-compliant manufacturers and approved steel suppliers. Every concrete sleeper we supply is steel-reinforced with N10 or N12 bars and complies with AS3600, in 40, 50 or 60MPa strengths. Concrete batches on our certified SA-made ranges are independently tested twice per week, so compliance is checked continuously, not once at certification.
Our steel posts are hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 and ACRS requirements. The systems are designed to AS3600 and AS4678 principles, and range documentation references AS1170 loading and AS4100 steel standards. These are the same standards an engineer will look for when signing off your wall.
Engineering limits: what the products are certified to do
Walls over 1 metre, or any wall carrying a surcharge, generally need engineering. Our certified systems support walls up to 4.5 metres, subject to design. We do not provide engineering services, but we publish guideline tables at retaining wall engineering so you and your engineer can check spans and post specifications before ordering. The standard pairing rule is: 75 to 80mm sleepers with 100 series posts, 100 to 120mm sleepers with 150 heavy duty posts. Using the certified pairing keeps your wall inside the documentation that backs the warranty and lifespan claims.
Damaged, incorrect or faulty goods
Damaged or incorrect goods are rectified with the manufacturer under Australian Consumer Law. If something arrives broken or wrong, contact us and we will manage the rectification process with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Returns, cancellations and refunds
We do not offer change-of-mind returns on sleepers or steel. Sale items are non-refundable. Cancellation refunds, minus card fees, are available only if the manufacturer or transport partner has not yet been paid, and within 5 business days. These rules exist because sleepers and steel are heavy, made-to-order style goods that cannot be economically restocked. Order changes must be in writing, and no changes are possible within 48 hours of a scheduled delivery: full logistics detail is on our pickup or delivery page.
