The 150 TFC galvanised steel channel is the heavy-duty C-section post in our ACT steel range, from $45. It does the same job as the 100 TFC, closing off wall ends, height steps and junctions, but in the 150 series that carries 100mm and thicker sleepers on taller engineered walls. Lengths run 600mm to 4800mm in 200mm increments, the longest options in the ACT channel range, cut to size for your design.
Taller walls are where Canberra’s conditions punish shortcuts: reactive clay pushes hardest on high retained faces, and certified engineering is the norm for ACT approvals at height. The 150 series exists for exactly those walls. Mid-run posts are the matching 150 UC 23 H beam; if your wall is 75 to 80mm sleepers under about 1.8m, drop back to the cheaper 100 TFC channel.
When do I need the 150 series instead of the 100?
Sleeper thickness decides it: 100mm and thicker sleepers need 150 series posts. Wall height and surcharge loads then set post spacing and embedment through the engineered design.
Are long lengths really available in the ACT?
Yes, up to 4800mm through this listing. ACT steel is supplied via the NSW network and freighted into Canberra, with lead time confirmed at quote since long sections travel on specific runs.
Is it hot-dip galvanised?
Yes, hot-dip galvanised for in-ground service. Beware cheaper painted or uncoated channel quotes; buried bare steel fails early in wet clay.
