The Lonsdale under fence plinth is the plain concrete kickboard for Adelaide fence lines: it sits at the base of a fence to retain garden beds, stop soil washing under, keep dogs in and protect timber palings or Colorbond sheets from ground contact. Like our sleepers, these plinths are manufactured at the Lonsdale SA 5160 factory yard, where concrete batches are independently tested twice a week, so SA stock is local, with pickup from Lonsdale by appointment and delivery across Adelaide metro.
Two profiles are stocked in Adelaide: 2340 x 200 x 50mm, the standard flat plinth, and 2355 x 200 x 65-50mm, a tapered profile for posts that need a wider seat at the base. Both are plain finish, steel-reinforced, and sized to span standard fence bays.
In the Adelaide range this is the no-frills option within our under fence plinths category; the Blackwood UFP is the same product in black for fences where the plinth is meant to match dark palings or Colorbond. For retaining more than one course of height, step up to full concrete sleepers instead.
Are plinths structural retaining products?
No. A plinth retains a shallow depth of soil at a fence line. Anything beyond a single 200mm course should be built as a proper sleeper retaining wall with posts.
How do plinths fix to fence posts?
They typically sit in the channel of steel fence posts or against timber posts on brackets. Tell us your fence type and we will confirm fit before you order.
Can I get them regionally in SA?
Regional SA freight is limited, but a metro freight-yard handoff is available for some regional destinations.
